We carry multiple varieties of certified oats each year. These will range from short stature varieties with high grain yield to taller, dual-purpose varieties suitable for either grain or forage. Please contact us for pricing and information on the varieties we have available.

For 2023, we have the following varieties available:

HAYDEN: most notable for their grain potential in moderate rainfall climates but can be taken for hay
RUSHMORE: hold the best grain quality of any oat variety in the lineup
BUFFALO OATS: a white oat with fantastic quality and excellent protein and test weight

Drilled Seeding Rate: 2.5-3 bushels/acre (80-100 lbs)

Goliath

Goliath Oats are a variety of oats released in 2012 out of South Dakota State University. Goliath Oats are most known for their dual-purpose usage. They can be used as an exceptional hay crop and for grain. Goliath Oats perform very well in dry conditions and are one of the top-yielding varieties in Western Climates.

  • Planting Time: Early Spring
    • Oats can tolerate any light frost that may occur after planting.

Seeding Rate: 2.5–3 bu/acre
Seeding Depth: 1 1/2″–2″
